Evidence Card 0013: Traffic Accident
Just an ordinary, deadly traffic accident. There are hundreds every day all around the world. Purely random chance, no malice involved.
Just keep telling yourself that.
Threat Card Back
One mechanic I’ve been toying with for Conspiracy! involves numbered cards that restrict how many evidence cards players can play in a turn … because, when you talk too much, the wrong people find out.
The back design for these Threat Level cards is appropriately menacing, I hope.
Evidence Card 0012: Car Bomb
When they want you dead, your demise won’t come in the form of a dark stranger with evil intent in his eyes. It’ll come in the form of a 1997 Chevy Lumina.
Evidence Card 0011: Brazil
In a bowl, mix 200 million Europeans, native tribespeople, and their racial mixed descendants.
Add rampant crime, corruption, a vibrant culture, sex, Catholicism, drugs, environmental degradation and severe economic disparity.
Cook at tropical temperatures for 500 years and serve piping hot.
Evidence Card 0010: The Bible
Every word in this book is true, but only individually. Reading them together can get you into trouble.
Evidence Card 0009 : Heavy Industry
America was built on three things: God, freedom, and industry. And what is industry? Industry is good honest labor. It’s the sweat of your brow, the smoke in your lungs, the mercury and other trace elements finding their way into your bones until they become brittle and snap.
Industry is our way of making sure life expectancy doesn’t creep too high. It gives up highways and strip mines and dams to clog up our pristine waters, and turns our sunsets a blazing orange with its pollution.
So, when you’re crippled in a wheelchair barely able to breathe or move, shed a tear for America and give thanks to the industry that made it great!
Evidence Card 0008: Supreme Court
Everyone knows the SCOTUS is one of the primary weapons of the Illuminati. Along with chemtrails, Elvis clones, and the alien-infiltrated U.S. Postal Service.
Reference Card (front)
There’s a profusion of icons on the Conspiracy! cards, so it seemed natural to create quick reference cards for players to use. The current version (left) needs a minor update: a line separating the top ten symbols (evidence categories) and the bottom six (misc. categories) would make this even more instructive.
Still, I think it looks nice.
Agenda Card Back
While the design for the back of the Agenda cards in Conspiracy! looks boring at first glance—a pile of typewritten papers?—the keen eye will recognize the text comes from declassified documents from the CIA’s top secret Project MKUltra.
Evidence Card 0007: Australia
Bloody oath, Oz is full of galahs and mugs. And secrets, too. Look hard enough for weirdness and you’ll find it, Bob’s your uncle … but mind you don’t crack a fruity, stickybeak.
(Disclaimer: no Australian has ever spoken this way, ever.)
